Fire Engine Sam: Ep6 Ballahoo Fire (Fanmade -Done)

It was a few days after the Fire at Ulfstead Castle.


Fire Engines Sam, Flynn, Sally and even Rocky and Joker were worried about Belle. Her brakes had failed at the castle and she’d had to be taken in for repair. Without her there, they were under staffed.


Flynn: I do hope Belle is ok.

Sally: Yeah, She had said her pipes had been blocked, and she hasn’t been able to help us with any rescues since then. I hope she can keep working with us.

Sam: I’m sure she’ll be back in working order soon. You know Belle, Can’t keep her down for long.


There was a bit of Silence in the yards as the engines thought about what might happen if she couldn’t be a fire engine anymore?  Just then, The Fat Controller arrived aboard Winston.


STH: Easy Winston!  That’s a good boy.

Winston: Your getting better sir, still earl- eee!- Early Days.  Oh, and don’t forget to put my handbrakes on.


STH: Right you are.   * He puts the brake on, climbs out, then addresses the Rescue team.*  ahem-hem. Engines, I know that Belle is in the steamworks for repair. I want to say again that you did a grand job at the castle, But it has come to my attention that your work on the island needs help. I'm glad to tell you that the Mountain Rescue Center is going to be given a new set of sheds for..

Joker: Let me guess, New engines?

Sam: Joker, Let the controller speak!

STH: No, Sam. Joker hit that right on the head, as it were. I have been able to bring two prototype fire engines, and a new Medical Service Engine here to Sodor. They are still in training, but I am confident that they will become valuable members to this team.  So, I’d like to introduce them to you.

As he spoke an engine they had never seen before pulled up, A diesel that carried two water cannons on his top, bright blue emergency lights, windows on his sides and was painted in the SSRC colors of Red and Yellow. Sam Sally and Flynn looked for the other engines, but they didn't come.

STH: This is Franklin, the Fire Railcar, Burnadette the Fire Tanker and Bianca the Rescue Engine.  … Hummh?  * He looks about for the other two engines. * Um,  Franklin? Do you know where are the others are?

Franklin: Sorry sir, they are still having their tanks scrubbed. They told me to go on ahead and say hello for them!  

STH: I see * Ahem* As you can see, Franklin is here to support you till Belle returns. Then he and the others can go up to the Mountain Rescue Center. Please make him welcome and comfortable!

Sam, Sally and Flynn: Yes Sir!  


The Fat Controller gets into Winston, and they drove away.


Sam: I guess introductions are in order. I’m Fire Engine Sam. This is Fire Engine Flynn, Fire Engine Sally…

Joker: And Fire Breakvan Joker!

Sally: Joker!

Sam: Forgive him, he’s..

Franklin: A Comedian, I see.

Joker: Thank you, I’ll be here all Month.

Franklin: I got a few jokes too. How do you know there is a ghost engine in your fridge?

Joker: How??

Franklin: From the tracks in your pizza! -Rimshot-

Sam: All right you two, that’s enough. Flynn, Would you take Franklin on patrol with you to help him learn the line?

Flynn: All right, Sam.  Follow me, Trainee Franklin. Soon you’ll know all that makes a great fire engine.

Franklin: Yes Sir!


They rumble off on patrol.

Sally: You think He’ll be ok?

Sam: Yep, He’s in good buffers.

Joker: But, without his rescue car, Flynn doesn’t have buffers!




Meanwhile, At the Boxford Summerhouse, The Duchess had just come out to speak to Spencer. She had a job for him.


Duchess: Spencer, I need you to collect the shipment of China Clay Dust from the Clay pits for me.

Spencer – Aghast- Me? But ma’am..

Duchess: As you know, I’m having the Estate photographed in a few days, and I want my flowers gardens looking Immaculate. I need that dust Spencer. I chose you because I need it Quickly.

Spencer: Oh… Oh! I see Ma’am.  I’ll go get it.

Duchess: Excellent, thank you Spencer.


*After the Duchess had gone out of earshot, Spencer steamed away. *

Spencer: Oh, Why is a Grand engine like me being reduced to doing the jobs of a common tank engine? Why couldn’t Rosie collect it, or Oliver, or Sampson!




Flynn and Franklin where at Brendam docks, meeting Salty and Porter.

Flynn: Alright Franklin. Lets say that one of Salty’s cars are in fire. What would you do first?

Franklin: Well, get Salty away from the fire so he don’t be in danger.

Flynn: Correct! Now that he’s safe, You see the car on fire is a oil tanker, What do you do?

Franklin: Well, since it’s Oil… Water and oil don’t mix…

Flynn: The Tanker could explode if you don’t hurry up, Franklin.

Franklin:  We would Douse it and Foam it!


 There was a bit of silence, as Flynn, Porter and Salty looked Franklin.

Flynn: Foam it?

Franklin. Yes, I’ll show you what I mean!

He pointed his two cannons at an old pile of scrap by the line. Two jets of white and green spurted all over the metal and as they hit, the chemicals began to poof and foam up. Soon the scrap looked like a fluffy bathtub!

Franklin: I nearly forgot I had that special Fire Foam. It’s two fire-retarding chemicals foam up when combined with oxygen- Air. It both uses the air and smothers the fire. Perfect for stopping oil fires!


Spencer: Silly is what I would call it. I do hope that stuff cleans off, because if it got on an important engine like me... well.


There was a groan as Spencer steamed into the docks.  The Silver Streamliner was still in a bad mood and he’d decided to take it out on the new engine. Franklin was upset that Spencer thought his foam was silly!

Franklin: Hey! That was..

Salty: Argh, Ye get use to him eventually, Franklin. Why are you here anyway, Spencer? No coaches I see.

Porter: Perhaps he’s here to shunt trucks!

Spencer: * Scofs* I happen to be here on an urgent job from the Duchess of Boxford. I have to get an important shipment for her.

Salty: Ahh, Trucks Aye? Good to see ye are finally pulling your weight. Arharhar.  


Spencer spluttered a bit as Bill and Ben arrived with a few cars. The twins saw Spencer and grinned, thinking he was just there for no reason.


Bill: Ben look, Spencer is here.  Lets play a trick on him~!

Ben: yes yes, lets hook up these cars of China dust to him!  

Quietly the twins hooked up the cars to Spencer, but Salty took notice. Bill rolled up beside the larger Engine and then shouted.


Bill: Your going to be late Spencer!!!

Spencer: Late?! For what, My job? Spencer is never late!

Salty: Ah, don’t try that, you two. Besides, good on you mateies for getting Spencer his cars so quick!

Bill and Ben:  What?! Oh.. yeah.

Bill: We mean to do that, right?

Ben: Right!

Spencer: Eh, Um, yes. Thank you. Now Excuse me.

Ben: Um but we need to put the tarps over the cars so..


But It was too late. Spencer was already steaming out of the docks. He was already hurrying down the line towards the crossing at Wellsworth and then Gordon's Hill. he didn't realize that the dust from his train was staring to blow out of the open cars without the tarps on top!

As they passed Molly on the way, who was heading for the docks,  the Clay dust blew into her face! It blinded her, stinging her eyes and making her cry in pain!

Molly: Oh my eyes!! Owowowowow~!  

She Whistled out loud as her eyes hurt her, as she pulled in to the docks. Flynn could see that she was hurting! But Spencer didn't hear her as he was to cross to notice anything. Buy Flynn did!

Flynn: Emergency Engine to the call!

He helped Molly stop and then started to use the water in his tanks to wash her eyes of the dust.

Flynn: Franklin, you have to stop Spencer before he causes any more trouble for the other engines!

Franklin: All right, Flynn, I’ll do my best!

The Fire Railcar Rumbled quickly after the speeding Spencer.


Spencer: * Fuming* Freight trains, how humiliating... An especially grand engine like myself should pull coaches, not trucks!

The Trucks were not pleased to hear his whining about this arrangement, but they decided the sooner this was done, this faster they were rid of him!  It wasn't long before he arrived at the Ballahoo yards, pulling into the sidings to stop at the water tower. Spencer was thirsty and wanted a drink.  Little did Spencer know, all the dist from his train had caused one of the trucks to get a hot box! It was heating up the bearings and as a bit of sparks jerked from the wheel, a spark landed on the ground, new some old leaky tank cars.  As Spencer had his drink, the spark started a fire!

Spencer: Ahh, Job done, now lets get these cars to the Summer house! – sniff sniff- I Smell Smoke.. and it’s not my own!

Spencer looked over and gasped as the fire burned nest to him, moving across the ground to the tank cars! It frightened Spencer!

Spencer:  FIRE FIIIRE!! SAVE ME, SOMEONE! I'M TOO HANDSOME TO DIE!!

Luckily a Workman quickly called the SS&RC, reporting the fire.

SSRC: - Bell rings-

Sam: Now who needs the fire Service?  Great fires of London, Oil fire at Ballahoo yards!

Sally: An Oil fire? We’ve never had to deal with an oil fire before!

Sam: Get in Contact with Flynn and Franklin, they are the closest response team.

Frankin:- VO- Franklin here, Sam!  I’m on my way to…

Sam: Franklin, listen up, there is an oil fire at Ballahoo, the signalmen will be sending you and Flynn there!

Franklin: I’ll get here quick, But Flynn’s at the docks, helping a yellow Tender Engine, Sam.  I’ll be alone on this fire! If you could hurry, that would be great!

Sam: I’m on my way, just do what you can.


Franklin rushed there to put it out, flashing down the line Siren Wailing. As he pulled in, he could see the fire all around the tank cars and the trapped Spencer looking terrorized. Quickly, Franklin got in place.

Franklin: Foam on!

The green and blue foam spurted out over the cars and the fire to cut off the oxygen that it needed to burn. Some of it spurted onto Spencer. Once the fire had been smothered, there was a problem. Franklin had no way to get to the water tower and use the water there and Flynn was not here to use his water to cool the fire!

Franklin: Flaming Firehouses, What do I do now… What do I..  

Then there was the sound of Sirens on the air. Belle pulled in, behind Franklin.  Flynn pulled up on the road, near the fire and the two started to douse the tank cars with water as two other engines arrived! The first was a White and red tank engine that looked a lot like Belle, who buffered up behind Spencer, to pull him away.  The other one was a long Red and yellow Diesel with a big tank on her back.  

Burnadette: Don’t worry, Big brother! Help is here!

Franklin: Burnadette! Bianca! You’re here at last, thank the maker!


With the help of Burnadtte, Belle and Flynn, the fire was soon out. Bianca looked over Spencer to see if he was hurt.

Franklin: Fire out!

Flynn: Well done, Franklin. That fire suppression foam really does the trick on oil fires!

Bianca:  Spencer, Suga’h? Are you… Crying?

Spencer: NO! A dignified engine like myself does not cry. I just got smoke in my eye, that’s all.

Franklin: Oh bother.


That evening, the three new engines introduced themselves to the Main Rescue team.


Sally: I didn’t know Belle had any siblings!

Belle: We were separated when I came to Sodor, Bianca and I use to work together all them time back on the Other Railway.

Burnadette: We’re just glad to help out! I hope we can learn lots from you all.

Flynn: Well, from what I can tell. If Franklin is any Indication, you all will be great rescue engines.

Sam: Three cheers for Franklin!

- The engines all shout Hip hip Hurrah-

Franklin: Oh Guys, It was really nothing.

Joker: I guess it was, after all it Spencer’s load cause the fire and the dust hurt Molly too.

Flynn: That’s about it. She’s ok thought, washed out all of the dust from her.

Joker: Must have been a ‘Sight for sore eyes’!

Sam: That’s not funny Joker.
